Walking in Portland wih my Valentine
The weather and a hectic schedule have recently conspired to keep me in the city limits when I had free time, but I found time to walk with my lovely bride and our pup this week. On Valentine’s Day, I realize once again I am a lucky man.
The following day, we revisited a small natural area in our neighborhood on a bluff overlooking the Willamette and the great greenspace that is Forest Park. It is a natural bowl in the curve of the bluff with a relatively flat protected area that is a great spot for dogs to go off leash. Denise calls it the Dog Bowl. Works for me.
On Valentine’s Day, I am thankful that my bride joined me for these walks and that the rain held off. Can’t wait for the next time.

Portland looks so much spring-y-er than here! I don’t often wish for an early spring, but I do look forward to being able to walk without planning the layers first.
Yesterday was even better. Prefect blue skies and it hit 60 degrees. Too bad I was stuck inside. And now, of course, it is back to gray and chilly.
Now you’re just rubbing it in
It’s seven here. Seven. However, I might get a chance to get out skiing in it – as long as the holiday crowds have thinned.
How lovely to see green grass in February!
